Hossein Khosravi

My name is Dr Hossein Khosravi, and I am an Accredited Practising Dietitian with over 20 years of experience in nutrition and dietetics. I have a deep understanding ofall areas of nutrition and dietetics, but I have a particular interest in chronic disease prevention and management, weight management, nutrition during pregnancy, childhood nutrition, and nutrition for older adults and people with special dietary requirements.

I began my career as a dietitian in Iran, where I earned my degree in 2000. From there, I pursued my passion for research and academia, working at various universities and research centres in Iran. In 2013, I relocated to Australia to continue my professional development, and I completed my PhD at Griffith University in 2017.Over the course of my career, I have published two book chapters and over 40 scientific papers in highly respected academic journals.
With my extensive international experience and academic background, I am confident that I can help you achieve your goals for overall nutrition and health. I am fluent in both Persian/Farsi and English and am intimately familiar with the cultures and dietary practices of various countries, including Australia, New Zealand, and Middle Eastern countries.
As a health professional, I believe that good nutrition is the foundation for overall health and well-being. I also believe that food should be a source of pleasure and enjoyment, but that it’s important to choose wisely by favouring healthier options and moderating the intake of less healthy foods.
In today’s world, there is a lot of information about nutrition that can be found on social media and other sources, but not all of it is accurate or based on scientific evidence. This is where I come in – as a health professional, I can help you navigate the confusing and often contradictory information out there and provide you with the guidance and support you need to make informed decisions about your diet.
One of the most important ways that I can help you is by dispelling common myths and misconceptions about nutrition. For example, there is a widespread belief that certain “superfoods” or fad diets can cure all manner of ailments and health problems. However, the truth is that good nutrition is about balance and moderation, not about miracle cures or magic bullets.
